Nothing!
This week I couldn’t think of anything to write about so I’m writing about nothing at all and the most nothingness thing i can think of is a can opener. Then it gets me thinking who invented them and why so my piece of writiing this week is not on nothing its on can openers, well the person who invented cans was Peter Durand and he invented them out of iron which made it very heavy, so a can opener could only be invented when the tin cans became lighter. The old instructions on the back of the can were ’cut around top near outer edge with a chisel and hammer’ all that fuss about opening a can of food for a snack. So the first can opener invented was by Ezra Warner of Waterbury Connecticut this was 50 years after light tin cans were invented. And the weird thing was that The first can opener was kept in the shop and the salesman had to open each can before they left the shop.
The modern can opener with the wheel that goes round the rim was invented by William Lyman of the united states in 1870. So there you go that’s all you need to know on the most nothingness thing I can think of!
